EU procurement threshold checker (2026–2027)
Enter a contract value, who is buying and what they are buying. You'll see whether it is above the EU threshold, which directive applies, and whether the buyer has to advertise it on TED.
The whole contract: all years, options and renewals, and every lot of the same purchase.
Enter a value to see which side of the EU threshold it falls on.
Thresholds valid 1 January 2026 – 31 December 2027. Figures checked against the official delegated regulations on 2026-10-28. This is guidance, not legal advice.

What changed on 1 January 2026
| Threshold | 2024–2025 | 2026–2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Central government supplies and services | EUR 143,000 | EUR 140,000 |

Questions
- What are the EU procurement thresholds for 2026–2027?
- From 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027, net of VAT: EUR 140,000 for central-government supplies and services, EUR 216,000 for sub-central buyers, EUR 432,000 for utilities and for defence supplies and services, EUR 5,404,000 for works and concessions, and EUR 750,000 (EUR 1,000,000 for utilities) for social and other specific services.
- Does a contract exactly at the threshold have to go on TED?
- Yes. The EU rules apply when the estimated value is equal to or greater than the threshold, so a contract at exactly the threshold is covered and must be advertised on TED.
- How is the contract value estimated?
- Use the total amount payable over the whole contract, net of VAT, including options, renewals and prizes. When a purchase is split into lots, the lots are added together. Splitting a purchase to stay under the threshold is not allowed.
- What if my country doesn't use the euro?
- Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Czechia, Hungary and Romania apply official national-currency equivalents fixed by the European Commission for the same two years (Communication C/2025/5732). The checker compares your value against those official figures, not a daily exchange rate.
